Zane can be found at Truth. Originally involved in the interior and furniture design industry, his coffee turning point came when a friend made him a mocha pot of Ethiopian Harrar.
I went from having three spoons of sugar to none with that one cup.
He gave up the design life to follow coffee and hasn’t looked back. He speaks passionately about coffee and is currently learning the intricacies of roasting under the wing of David Donde. He places special emphasis on the social aspect of coffee and mentions that coffee allows him to connect with new and interesting people everyday. People, he admits, that he probably would never have met had he not been involved in coffee.
What you can do with coffee is great, but coffee alone is not enough.
Zane was involved in judging both the Western Cape Regional Barista Champs as well as the National Barista champs this year. This honour is testament to his place in the coffee industry. He has a keen enthusiasm for coffee and you will pick this up within seconds of speaking to him.
If you want a single, drink half.
