If you’re looking for a super cool spot to visit in Durbs, Freedom Café is the place to go.
Housed in a converted red shipping container with a glass extension, this spot is the brainchild of Neil Roake and offers a detailed expression of his expertise in the worlds of food and design. The place bursts with quirky details from ceramic sausage dog salt and pepper holders to wire lampshades. Mirrored walls boast Marge Simpson and other crazy hairdos that sit above your reflection when seated and a roll of XXX mints accompanies the bill.
You’ll find organic salads, scrumptious open sarmies, light starters and fuller mains on the menu alongside a mean selection of pastries. The coffee is top notch and you can pick up one of Neil’s recipe books while you’re at it.
You’ll be sorry not to visit this awesome little place.
