Red Sofa is the bee’s knees when it comes to renting dvds. That’s a fact. If your viewing pleasure revolves around DSTV then that probably wouldn’t interest you. What you might find interesting, however, is that the Red Sofa team has taken their awesomeness to a whole new level in the form of their brand spanking new coffee shop, Red Sofa Café. This cool little spot in Vredehoek opened on Tuesday and deserves a top spot on your list of coffee shops to visit.
The coffee is great (Deluxe House Blend), the atmosphere is chilled and it’s got a fantastic menu that is reasonably priced and rather entertaining – think ‘Dessert for Breakfast’ – chocolate/almond/cinnamon croissant; ‘Don’t Feel Like Eggs’ Brekkie’ – yoghurt, seasonal fruit, nuts & seeds and the ‘Plate ‘O Bacon.’ That’s right, a full plate of bacon and nothing but bacon. For lunch they’ve got a selection of sarmies, wraps, salads and hot dishes like the ‘Hoddog’ and ‘Cheese Burger.’ And, just when you thought it couldn’t get better, they also serve tapas from 5pm. Need I say more?
