What do you think about when you’re stirring your coffee? Do you think about the deliciousness of last night’s risotto or how ridiculous the end of that movie was? Maybe you think about the assignment you need to complete or what you are going to buy your friend for her birthday. Perhaps you aren’t thinking about anything at all and instead have a song from the latest Kings of Leon album stuck in your head. You could be thinking about anything really but more than likely it is something constrained to the boundaries of your own private universe.
Seattle stores nationwide are provoking thoughts of a different kind. They are asking you to think about some incredible people. People who are doing great things, changing lives. They are asking you to think about a group of doctors who are providing emergency aid to people affected by a myriad of events and circumstances – armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care. These professionals are part of an initiative called Doctors Without Borders and Seattle are running a campaign to raise funds. It’s a R15 monthly donation. That’s the average price of a cuppa. How about that for a thought?
