Long Street has forever been associated with the “downtown” of Cape Town and its vibrant night life. It’s littered with eateries and bars, most of which are neither here nor there.
But then you stumble upon Lola’s. A humble and somewhat understated institution, Lola’s is sometimes a little out of place wedged between all the dribble and darkness of Long Street. It’s the quintessential home of “goodness”, whether you’re tucking into an ice cold craft beer, scrumptious paella or a damn fine flat white. You’ll find yourself surrounded by the hipster elite and soccer moms alike, and yet everyone finds themselves at home in this happy bistro. Loll on the pavement in the summer sun, or cuddle up to someone tasty inside in the winter. The vibe is always effortlessly cool, and trust me, once you’ve touched base here, you’ll be scheduling in your next coffee date… Oh, anddo have a go at the sweet treats. There is always a little something that will accompany your next cupof bean rather superbly. Don’t write off Long’s ability to bring home the pudding just yet. Lola’s is proof in that.
