Much like the art movement after which it is named, Rococo Art Café represents a change from a previously established state. Whereas the art movement shifted from the grandiose manner of the Baroque era, Rococo Art Café replaces longstanding 38 Special.
Situated on Buitenkant Street, Rococo is housed in a building that is close to two centuries old. The exterior doesn’t give away her age as much as the masonry you’ll find inside. Charming stone walls and weathered wooden floors make for a cosy setting and artworks, which change monthly, cover the entirety of the walls. Wooden tables line the length of the room and comfy couches can be found at each end. They offer a handful of bites and with free wifi and soft background tunes, this spot makes for a good coffice option.
Rococo is serving a well-rounded Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee. It leans toward the mellow side so if you’re looking for a bit of a kick I’d suggest opting for a double shot.
