Exciting things are happening at Rosetta. Jono, Rob and the Phantom, aka Jeff, have given the roastery a bit of a facelift with some new comfy furniture and a splash of paint. They have also released their new super cool packaging. Designed by Adam Hill and Jordon Metcalf, the packaging differentiates their selection of single-origins and includes their trademark, quirky coffee descriptions. They have also included their roast dates so you’ll know just how fresh your coffee is.
What’s more exciting is Rosetta’s current selection of coffee.
The Yirgacheffe is lightly roasted and boasts soaring citrus tones and an incredibly open floral nose. Notes of bergamot and a sweet marmalade finish make this coffee, as the guys so aptly put it, the perfect breakfast coffee – or a welcome companion to a summer afternoon on the terrace.
The Sumatran Blue Batak is a medium roast with Marilyn Monroe fullness of body, earthy tones and foresty aromas of cut grass and fresh herbs.
The Costa Rican Calle Copey has a bit of favouritism from my side. The Calle Copey farm was placed third in Costa Rica’s 2009 prestigious Cup of Excellence awards and also took honours in this harvest’s “Best of Costa Rica” competition. The coffee is smooth and sweet with a mild fruity acidity that is complimented by a milk chocolate finish. It is a medium roast.
