I first visited Haas, this little Bo Kaap haunt one Friday morning with a friend after hearing from so many people what a gem it is. We were not disappointed. A bustling source of energy in Cape Town’s historic Cape Malay suburb, Haas is an energetic, soulful place that offers a unique café experience. The coffee shop-come-art gallery is decked out with a beautiful and striking interior: think beautiful oil paintings meet sleek wooden tables and interesting ornaments. This is modern class with a youthful twist. The artistic vein of the café is a strong defining factor of it, and this creative energy turns it in to a positive hub of activity. The food is good, though unmemorable, but the staff (who don top hats and waistcoats) make up for the overall experience what the food slightly lacks. Head there early on a sunny morning and grab a table on the street. The positive, creative energy and strong coffee will be the happiest way to start off your day.
What’s Hot: Happy meals and blissful solo coffee dates.
A unique, creative space in which to while away your day.
