It’s the long weekend, baby, and it begins tonight!
Get down to the Old Biscuit Mill for the Eat In night market where they will be announcing the winners of the 2011 SAB Eat In Produce Awards and launching this year’s edition of Eat In magazine. The best that SA’s small producers have to offer will be available for tasting, nom nom nom, and there will be live music from Dave Ferguson. Entrance is free. Starts at 5pm.
Electric Vagabond, an exhibition by photographer Nic Obi, is kicking off at 6pm at Field Office this evening. From the sound of things, this is going to be quite a serious shindig and dose of coffee and art. Well, maybe not so much coffee but I’m sure if you ask nicely they will make you one.
If you’re in Jozi, make your way to Wolves for Howl. This evening they’ve got live tunes from No Dancing as well as Kitsch. Bands start around 8:30pm.
If you know what’s good for you, you will have a big night in on both Friday and Saturday, in preparation for Sunday’s big event. The 2011 We Love Real Beer Festival starts at noon at the Old Biscuit Mill and promises to be better, bigger and beerier than ever! Get your paws on beauties from Napier Brewery, Jack Black, Mitchell’s Brewery, Brewers & Union, Darling Brew and Camelthorn Brewing. There are a number of bands lined up as well as some delicious bites. 30 bucks gets you in.
